Please join cellist LPO cellist Jeanne Jaubert and pianist Yui Asano in an intimate setting for a 50-minute program which features two works:
Bach's The Third Cello Suite
Schubert's "Arpeggione Sonata" for cello and piano.
This masterpiece by Schubert was actually written for an instrument (the arpeggione) that was an oddity even in Schubert's day and that no longer exists except for a few specimens in museums. While it has been transcribed for a number of different instruments, the work has inspired interpretation by many of the world's greatest cellists, and now Jeanne is trying her hand at it!
Bring your favorite wine and perhaps a cushion to sit on.
Doors open at 6:00.
Please park considerably without blocking our neighbors driveways.
What's the music?
Suite in C Major for solo cello, J.S. Bach
Arpeggione Sonata for cello and piano, Schubert
