This will be my 2nd Groupmuse at WeWork. Had so much fun the 1st time. Looking forward to doing it again.
We had four Cellos in the winter. This time, 8 cellos and mainly new music.
What's the music?
Cello there, NYC!
We're all cellists studying at Juilliard, and we rarely get to play together besides in orchestra. We're stoked to play together with the chillist cellist friends and perform our favorite works from the traditional classical repertoire by J.S. Bach and more. Then, in the second half, we'll jam to some arrangements of Frank Ocean and Aphex Twin.
PROGRAM will include:
Bach....Chaconne
Arranged from Partita No. 2 in D minor
Debussy....Sarabande (arr. Eric Bartlett)
Piazzolla....La Muerte del Angel & Libertango
Fauré....Après un Rêve (arr. Eric Bartlett)
~5 minutes beer break~
Monteverdi....Sì ch'io vorrei morire
Jorge Ben Jor....Mas que nada (arr. Valter Dešpalj)
Aphex Twin....Nanou 2 (arr. John-Henry Crawford)
Villa Lobos....Embolada from Bachianas Brasileiras No. 1
Frank Ocean...Self Control (arr. Aaron Wolff)
