Welcome to my next Groupmuse event with a special focus:
GREAT WOMEN COMPOSERS' Quartets.
I feel such a program is long overdue and together with the wonderful cellist Mosa Tsay we so far narrowed it down to Modern and Contemporary string quartets written by Amy Beach, Meredith Monk, and Kaija Saariaho.
This will be a unique possibility to get introduced and to listen to these amazing but rarely performed compositions for once up-close, performed by an all female string quartet of Juilliard alumnae & current students.
I hope you are as existed as I am and that you will be able to join us that evening.
I will provide some snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. Please bring your own alcoholic beverage.
Closest subway station is 'York Street' on the F line (it drops you off directly on Jay Street), otherwise 'High Street' on the A line. There is also a Ferry going to Dumbo; from there you can walk along the park to get to my building entrance. Street parking is best on the Vinegar Hill side.
What's the music?
We're excited to explore these composers' works with you all!
