Dear old (and new) friends,
we are very happy to host the Baltic Duo featuring Ilona Kudina (flutes) and Aija Reke (violin) for an evening of original Baltic sounds and atmospheres. The “Baltic Duo” was founded in 2015 in Boston with the goal to popularize chamber music written by Baltic composers internationally.
Their program encompasses a very wide range of musical styles, starting from baroque music to contemporary and rare compositions written for the unique combination of violin and flute.
Come for the magic of live performance and to share your favorite wine or finger foods! We hope in your numerous participation and generous giving (to the musicians !!)
Best,
tancredi
What's the music?
“Baltic Duo” brings impressive contemporary classical music repertoire for violin and flute from the three Baltic States - Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania to Groupmuse.
Baltic states are celebrating one hundred years of independence this year and “Baltic Duo” celebrates with the concert program that will introduce wide variety of contrasting music styles, including dreamy and pastoral composition by Kõrvits, minimalist piece by Valančiūtė, new composition written at 2018 by Dombrovska which was specially composed for the “Baltic Duo”, melancholic “Monologue” by Porietis and edgy, dissonant duo by Pavasars. Three contrasting non Baltic pieces - a classic by Rolla, virtuosic Paganini and contemporary composition by John Pacheco will resonate and add to the dreamy and a versatile concert program to celebrate Baltic music in America.
