This past fall, we were proud to present our first Night Out at the Kennedy Center, which sold out in a flash. Well, here we are in 2018 and we’ve got some good news: next Tuesday, we’ll gather once again at the Kennedy Center for our second DC Night Out - but this evening will be a more intimate affair.
Young Concert Artists (known to their friends and confidantes as YCA) is the leading cultivator of rising talent in the classical music world. They take young virtuosi and incubate them into the mature artists who carry forth this art form. And, next Tuesday, January 23rd, at 7.30pm they’re bringing one of those artists to the Kennedy Center, and they want us to join!
New Zealand-born wizard of the violin Benjamin Baker, joined by Daniel Lebhard on the piano, will present a program of Franz Schubert, Benjamin Britten, and Edward Elgar at the Kennedy Center’s Terrace Theatre.
Tickets are usually $45, but because it’s Groupmuse and fortune smiles upon us, you can get yours for $20 — more than half off! That said, the supply is quite limited, so boogie!
But wait! Our wonderful friends at YCA aren’t stopping there - every one of you who joins is invited to the post-concert reception at the brand new Hungarian Embassy - hosted by the Ambassador - from 9:30pm to 11. You’ll be able to hang with your fellow ‘musers and hobnob with other arts lovers from around the city. There will be hors d’oeuvres, appetizers and * gasp * an open bar! But, whereas we welcome sweat pants, basketball shorts, and even pajamas for a standard living room groupmuse, this’ll be a slightly more swanked-out affair, so you might want to dress in an ever-so-slightly swanked out manner.
Have a great Night Out DC!
