Hello friends,
Given the success of last year's extravaganza, we're making a tradition of it! An evening of Scottish baroque music for fiddle, voice, and harpsichord, from dressed-up settings by Haydn and Geminiani to rawer interpretations of traditional tunes, all celebrating the poetry of Robert Burns.
And there will be highland snacks and a whisky punch!
What's the music?
Geminiani: Auld Bob Morris
Haydn: John Anderson, my Jo/Queen Mary's Lament/Pinkie House
Geminiani: Trio sonata on 'The Broom of Cowdenknows'
Neil Gow's lament / Lowlands of Holland
Lumps of Pudding
I Love my Love in Secret
Munro: Sonata on 'Bonnie Jean of Aberdeen'
Fae, gar rub her o'er with Straw
Over the Water to Charlie
