January 27th is a big day for us here in the Groupmuse-iverse. That's because it's the birthday of one of our favorite heroes of culture and the sublime - W. A. Mozart. This January 27th, Wolfgang will be 262 years young. It's a loss to all of us that he was only alive for the first 35 of those 262 years, but a birthday is a birthday, and this year, thanks to our wonderful friends at the New Century Chamber Orchestra, we've got a way to celebrate it!
The New Century Chamber Orchestra is one of the leading conductor-less orchestras in the nation, and it roosts in your very own Bay Area. And on January 27th at 8pm, we'll gather in the beautiful and legendary Herbst Theatre to share with them an evening of all Mozart -
We'll be hearing his 23rd Piano Concerto, his 3rd Violin Concerto and his 29th Symphony, all of which stand among the finest pieces of their form because, well, they're by Mozart!
Our wonderful friends with New Century have given us a stack of ridiculously cheap tickets - $15! (and $10 for supermusers) - but the supply is limited so step lively!
What's the music?
