Welcome to our first Groupmuse at Casabella! We're excited to share our home with you, and fill it with beautiful chamber music. We have plenty of space, but if you can, please bring a pillow or blanket to sit on. See you on the 23rd! --Lizzie, Amber, & Daniel
About the Music
Violin-cello duets by Godard, Kodaly, Handel-Halvorsen and a piece by the cellist, Lewis Patzner:
• Jean-Luc Godard was a lesser-known Jewish-French Romantic-era composer and the piece is comprised of two short but beautiful/playful movements.
• Zoltan Kodaly is better known, he was a 20th-century Hungarian composer and famed educator.
• Lewis's piece is a mix of styles, a little bit of rock n' roll as well as expressive.
• The Handel-Halvrosen is a thrilling show piece, the Norwegian composer Johan Halvorsen wrote the arrangement based on a melody by the much more famous Classical-era composer George Frideric Handel.
