We hope the process of digesting Thanksgiving Delectables is going forward according to schedule. We’re here to welcome you back to the world of the city with a spectacular Night Out tomorrow, at one of our favorite spots, (le) Poisson Rouge.
For those who aren’t yet familiar, LPR is a particularly cool bar/venue in Manhattan that for the past decade has emerged as one of the leading lights in the effort to over haul classical music’s vibe, and they’re doing a darn good job. We've done a bunch of Nights Out with them, and they all tend to be sold-out hits with our crowd.
On Tuesday night, they’ve got a double header - Jiji, one of the most acclaimed classical guitarist of her generation, performing a wide ranging program with everything from Isaac Albeniz, to Steven Reich, to Arvo Pärt.
Jiji’s followed up by superstar of the trumpet Brandon Ridenour, backed by pianist Peter Dugan with an equally eclectic program that spans the world and the ages - George Gershwin, Claude Debussy, Erik Satie, Rimsky Korsakov, and Radiohead.
And our wonderful brothers-in-arms at LPR have given us a limited stack of tickets for $15* (and $10 for supermusers), but, it is indeed limited, so hustle!
Doors are at 6.30 and music starts at 7.30pm.
——
*Note: The tickets will be for both standing room and spots at a cabaret table. Spots at a cabaret table are more limited and will be available on a first come, first served basis. Also, table spot come with a required two drink minimum, but the bar at LPR is absolutely epic. It's the size of an aircraft carrier.
