Following up on our insanely popular sold-out-within-an-hour Night Out with the legendary Mostly Mozart Festival, rocking our great city for the next few weeks, we've got our second installment, thanks to the generosity of our friends at the festival. And they're giving us a two night run, to keep up with demand!
We start at 6.30pm in David Geffen Hall with a prelude concert, featuring Víkingur Ólafsson performing one of Beethoven's fabled piano sonatas.
Then, at 7.30pm we're back in David Geffen Hall to share Beethoven's enormous and sublime Violin Concerto - often called the greatest of all violin concertos, with Thomas Zehetmair on the violin. It'll be followed by Mozart's tempestuous G Minor Symphony - arguably the most beloved of all of his works.
Conductor Andrew Manze leads the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra.
It'll be a concert of war horses and throbbing hearts and the night is yours to choose:
Friday
or
Saturday
The tickets are typically $60 or more, but because it's Groupmuse, you'll get yours for $25. But seriously gang -- these sold out in an hour last time, so move!
What's the music?
Beethoven: Violin Concerto
Mozart: Symphony No. 40 in G minor
Location
10 Lincoln Center Plaza, New York, NY, United States
