I hope that you can join me at my home on the 16th of July for an evening of French art song (featuring a rarely performed song cycle by Nadia Boulenger), coaching in singing La Marseillaise in French, a buffet dinner of French food, ending by gathering around the piano to sing songs of France (both American and French songs). This is always a fun evening!
The tentative program for the art song portion of the evening is:
• Demain fera un an
Le break
• (and, of course, Paul won’t be able to resist making fresh Gougères for our Amuse Bouche)
Andre Caplet: Deux sonnets
• "Quand reverrai-je, helas"
• "Doux fut le trait"
Claude Debussy
• Voici que le printemps
• Green
• Beau soir
Reynaldo Hahn: Mai *
Ernest Chausson: Le temps des lilas
Erik Satie: Je te veux
End with French National Anthem TUTTI
What's the music?
with Choo Choo Hu (Piano) and Jasmine Hogan (Harp)
