'Concert for Compassion' comes to London.
Fellow Juilliard violinists Jocelyn Zhu and Mariella Haubs think it’s time for a change. A change from ignorance, hatred, and fear to understanding, compassion, and empathy.
We are Concerts for Compassion, and starting this June we are playing in US Embassies and refugee camps throughout Europe (and beyond!) to promote racial acceptance. How, you ask?
Well.
Beyond actual music, we plan on sharing stories. Stories of how religious, ethnic, and racial slurring has happened before, and how composers and artists reacted through music. We want to promote awareness of what yet needs to be done, for we tie in to the belief that what is pleasing to the eye and ear also has the enormous capability to change hearts.
What's the music?
