I am thrilled to participate in bringing GroupMuse to southern California. Hearing is believing and the love of classical music will grow when you experience chamber music the way it was meant to be heard - in the intimate space of a living room surrounded by old and new friends. We love music, we love our Ventura County community and we'd love for you to come to our house to be dazzled by some musical magic. I am very excited to host my first event!
What's the music?
San Francisco pianist Ian Scarfe joins us for an evening of music by Ravel, Beethoven, Granados, Chopin, Debussy, and more.
Enjoy the casual and intimate atmosphere of a house concert - sip a glass of wine, nibble on snacks, and listen as Scarfe tells the backstories of these composers and the music on the program.
The program will feature music from Ravel's exotic and impressionistic sound world, arranged into the baroque dance suite "Le Tombeau de Couperin", a work dedicated to his friends and colleagues who died in World War One.
Scarfe will also perform selections by Frederic Chopin, Ludwig van Beethoven, Claude Debussy, Enrique Granados, and others.
