Come to our Newton home on Sunday, October 23 at 4:00pm and enjoy high-quality music from world-class musicians in the comfort of our living room. Tye Austin is an international award-winning classical guitarist and composer currently living in Boston, MA. He made his Carnegie Hall debut merely five years after beginning his formal music studies and he graduated from the New England Conservatory with his Master of Music degree in classical guitar performance under the tutelage of legendary maestro Eliot Fisk. The first half of the program will feature solo guitar followed by chamber music with the Back Bay String Trio (guitar, violin, and viola), which was founded by Tye in an effort to bridge the divide between plucked and bowed string instruments and help establish the guitar as a serious solo and chamber instrument.
Groupmuse is based on 19th century salon concerts when Europe's most prized musicians would perform and socialize in the homes of the rising middle class. Groupmuse members can order live music to their door similar to the way one calls for an Uber and all payments go directly to support the musicians. Be sure to RSVP to this event today as seats will fill up!
