This will be the first ever groupmuse that I'll be hosting in my cozy apartment with a fabulous view of the Hudson River. Our musicians for the evening will be Nicholas Pappone, violin and Sasha Ono, cello. I've played with them in the orchestra I co-founded and ran for four years in Westchester County. They are really great players and super-nice people. I'm excited that they will be playing in my home and really love for you to come hear them!
Nicholas and Sasha will perform two 30-40 minute sets of music, with a short intermission for everyone to refuel and chat. The program will include the Handel-Halvorsen Passacaglia, Gliere duets, and works by Kreisler, Beethoven and Bach.
The music will be over by 9:00pm since my co-op will get mad at me otherwise. After the performance, we will pass the hat and I encourage you to give generously to the musicians.
Please bring some finger foods and beverages, alcoholic or non-alcoholic, to share. I will also provide some light food.
Since my kids (ages 9 & 13) will be at the event, this event is open to all ages. If the kids get antsy they can retreat to the bedroom while the adults and musicians stay in the living room. However, I think it's great for kids to experience live music from a young age, especially up close and personal like this!
What's the music?
Handel-Halvorsen - Passacaglia
Gliere - Duets for Violin and Cello
Beethoven - Duo for Violin and Cello (arranged)
and other solo works!
