Noche de Flamenco y Romance

Come and hear some great music at the Knudten/Wegerbauer house!

Classical guitarist Oskar Saks and concert pianist Jerimiah Owens will be performing a program of flamenco, classical and romantic piano, and guitar music, including some of the most beautiful works from Francisco Tárrega, Roland Dyens, Juan Serrano, Piero Umiliani, Frederic Chopin, Claude Debussy, The Beatles and Moritz Moszkowski. This concert is presented through Groupmuse—a platform enabling communities to come together around great art, connecting classical musicians to local audiences through concert house parties. This will be the second time I’ve hosted; if this one is anything like the first, it’s gonna be a fun night with beautiful music and nice people.

Note that there is a suggested donation amount of $10 per person that goes directly to the musicians. Please bring cash. (And I encourage you to kick in more, if you can.) Let’s support these young, talented musicians as they pursue their art!

-- ALLERGY ALERT…my two cats and a dog will be locked away for the night, but they do live here with their hair.

ARTIST BIOS:

Oskar Saks is an Estonian classical guitarist who moved to the states in 2005. He has performed along side Jerimiah Owens, Anton Smirnov, Jacob McKibben and many other great Denver artists. He currently plays lead guitar in a Denver swing band. He is also a vocalist, a dancer, an athlete, and a Sergeant in the Colorado Army National Guard. His main focus in guitar music is classical and flamenco styles but he also plays many other genres. In 2014 he played several home concerts in Wheat Ridge and Littleton; he is excited about bringing music into more intimate home concerts.

Born into a family of musicians, Jerimiah Owens began performing at age 5. As a concert pianist, he has played in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. He currently studies with Angelina Gadeliya, a graduate of The Juilliard School, and previously studied with Artur Stoyanov, former faculty member of Moscow State Conservatory. A multi-faceted artist, Jerimiah is also a vocalist, conductor and swing dancer. He is a graduate of Denver School of the Arts, and now teaches voice and piano at studios in Lakewood and Colorado Springs.
