We're teaming up with the Williamsburg raw loft Immersive Gallery and some of NYC's best classical and interdisciplinary musicians, dancers, and artists to produce a mindblowing evening of interdisciplinary art -- with cash bar and hors-d'oeuvres.
Come explore COSMOGENIES: an art exhibition where 10 artists/architects from Greece explore the origins of social space. The artists say: "Here we come to see what happens when real-material, body-to-body, communication...is channeled and transferred over to exchanges made of informational signals, signals that impart a ghostly life...and have power over others, over ourselves.”
Then, our first set will feature the brilliant Ulysses String Quartet performing Bartok's 4th quartet.
"His pagan barbarity, his explosive and angrily defiant melancholy, his demoniacal instinct . . . these are all echoes . . . of the thousand-year-old Hungarian psyche." Simplistic, percussive, dancelike, and ethereal -- folk music of the Hungarian countryside inspired this great masterpiece.
The second set will feature Fluid Luminous Beings, dancers from the Immersive Gallery and Juilliard, performing (and feel free to join in) to new music by Jordan McLean and Jacob Robinette played by Jordan, pianist Derin Oge, and percussionist Cesare Papetti.
Then: we'll all enjoy the afterparty which will double as a record release for Pop It: Drum For Your Life!
We can't wait to surround ourselves with art, music, and dance. Join us: it should be an unforgettable night.
