The Rite of Spring changed music forever. The first audience couldn't stay in their seats, and why should they? It was the most revolutionary piece of music ever performed, and it's designed to make you move.
We're bringing this bad-ass piece back to its roots, and inviting you to shake it to the Glorification of the Chosen One.
The Rite of Spring conducted by James Blachly, performed by the Experiential Orchestra, comprised of 85 of New York City's very hottest musicians in Fort Greene Brooklyn, with YOU the audience invited to dance, house-party style, to the entire live performance.
This has never been done before in the history of the world (except once, last January, when we got hot and sweaty in Boston), and it will be revolutionary to the way you experience orchestral music.
All proceeds from tickets go to support Musicambia - a non-profit organization creating music schools in the prisons and jails of the United States. Musicambia currently works at Sing Sing Correctional Facility in Ossining, New York and Allendale Correctional Institute in Fairfax, South Carolina. Learn more about this incredible organization at musicambia.org.
Things to note:
Beer will likely be for sale.
Shoes off at coat check.
No rioting.
Dance like crazy.
What's the music?
The Rite of freaking Spring
