Join us for an Enlightenment Salon! Enjoy coffee, tea, and refreshments with friends, and consider the answers to life’s persistent questions found in the music of the Baroque. We will converse through short vocal and instrumental pieces by a range of European Baroque masters, including Lambert, Vivaldi, Purcell, and other fabulous French, German, and Italian composers.
Sat, June 13, 4:30pm
Pavement Coffeehouse, 736 Commonwealth Ave, Boston, MA 02215
Musicians:
Christien Beeuwkes and Audrey Fernandez-Fraser, sopranos
Weronika Balewski, flauto traverso
Yi-Li Chang and Simone Trollmo, baroque violins
Christien Beeuwkes, viola da gamba
Thomas Bowers, harpsichord
Tickets:
No tickets necessary, just come early to get a good seat and refreshments, if you like (sold and served by Pavement Coffeehouse)! There will be a suggested donation of $10, but if it's not in your budget, just bring the most important donation - your presence!
What's the music?
The Meaning of Life! Evidence for our debate is in the music!
You'll hear vocal and instrumental works by Vivaldi, Bach, Handel, Purcell, Monteverdi, Porpora, Cavalli, Uccellini, Barriere, Lambert, and the mysterious Dr. Harrington.
Also featuring a historically informed wig and melodramatic debate.
