I am happy to welcome back pianist Amy Zanrosso, who has played at my house several times. She will be performing an exciting program with violinist Pasha Sabouri. I hope you can attend!
What's the music?
Join pianist Amy Zanrosso and violinist Pasha Sabouri for a fantastic afternoon of music as they weave and dance their way through Beethoven's 6th piano and violin sonata, Stravinsky's Suite Italienne and Korngold's Much Ado About Nothing. They may not weave and dance through the program necessarily in that order but however it plays out, much enjoyment will be had. And you know it's going to be good when Beethoven variations are involved.
E. W Korngold's Much Ado About Nothing
i. Lento, Molto Moderato with charm and grace
ii. In the tempo of a grotesque funeral march
iii. Molto espressive (broad, but not too slow)
iv. Animato
L.V. Beethoven's Sonata for Violin and Piano in A Major, No. 6, Op. 30, No. 1
i. Allegro
ii. Adagio molto espressivo
iii. Allegretto con Variazioni
Igor Stravinsky's Suite Italienne for Violin and Piano
i. Allegro Moderato – Introduzione
ii. Serenata
iii. Tarantella
iv. Gavotta con due Variazioni
v. Scherzino
vi. Minuetto e Finale
