We've got an awesome offer for our Groupmuse community members! December 12 at 7pm join your fellow groupmusers for a Night Out with NY Resonance at The House of the Redeemer.
The evening will begin with a wine reception followed by an immersive lecture/performance, featuring Bach preludes and fugues and Liszt's absolute beast for solo piano, the Sonata in B Minor.
NY Resonance founder, pianist Leon Livshin, writes this about their upcoming program:
"Both Baroque and Romanticism seem full of contradictions. The Baroque artist longs for divine order but is haunted by chaos; the Romantic hero chases freedom but finds meaning in pain. Could it be that they aren’t opposites at all? Maybe they’re two sides of the same coin, or different rooms in the same house—the house of chaos we all live in. And in the end, I wonder: are Baroque and Romanticism really about art—or are they about us? How do we face the chaos in our lives? Do we, like Baroque, try to shape it into something orderly, something we can understand? Or do we, like the Romantics, let it take us, hoping to find something true in the storm? I don’t know the answer. Maybe there isn’t one. Maybe the beauty lies in the question itself."
All tickets include complimentary wine. Seating is general admission, first come first served.
