Cameron Welke and Cole Manel, members of the ensemble Magdalena, bring their passion for early music to this intimate performance. Cameron, a seasoned performer with groups like the Washington Bach Consort and Tempesta di Mare, brings “expert technical dexterity and endearing expressivity” (Chestnut Hill Local) to historical plucked instruments. Cole studied Historical Performance at the Peabody Institute and Switzerland’s Schola Cantorum, specializing in early plectrum instruments. Together, they invite listeners to experience the warmth and intricacy of Renaissance music through works by composers like John Dowland and Francesco da Milano.
Enjoy some snacks and beverages any time after 7 pm before getting settled in our living room for the concert at 7:30. There will be 2 sets of approximately a half hour each, with time at the end to ask the musicians questions. Masks are welcome but not required. We're asking that each person who attends contribute at least $25 to the musicians.
