Hi everyone - looking forward to having you!
Same setup as prior concerts we've hosted...
We will have some fantastic musicians joining us to share some beautiful music with some snacks and drinks in between, including in the backyard if we get lucky with the weather. We'll be wrapping up before dinner.
This time we are lucky to have a Baroque ensemble playing a range of pieces including some which may not have been heard for 300+ years.
We'll have some snacks and a few drinks, please feel free to bring a bottle of something to drink if you like. Cheers!
What's the music?
Musica Incantina presents: Unearthed Treasures
This program is centered around an original 18th century manuscript owned by our very own keyboardist, Ben. Discovered in Italy, it contains over a hundred pages of cello music, including new attributions to Gabrielli and Scarlatti (performances of those are forthcoming!) as well as many other pieces by composers we kinda know, ones we don't really know at all and even some by the humble yet quite prolific "Anonymous" (anyone want to claim those?) Much of this music has likely not been played publicly in about 300 years and we are delighted to be the first to bring it to you!
These tunes may have been gathering dust for a few centuries, but trust us, they deserve to finally see the light of day. Come and see for yourself!
