SydeBoob Duo, a genre bending contemporary chamber music duo whose musical practice combines classical, jazz, and electronics are thrilled to be presenting their program "Translucent Landscapes." The program will be held at Scholes Street Studio, 375 Lorimer St, Brooklyn, NY 11206. Guest can arrive as early as 7:15 and can expect music by 8:00pm with works by Anthony Braxton, Ursula Mamlok, Adolphus Hailstork, Andrew Hamilton, Ellen Ruth Harrison, Max Johnson, and Katherine Pukinskis. SydeBoob Duo consists of Soprano Anna Elder and Flutist Sarah Steranka. Soprano Anna Elder has been hailed by the NY Times as "a voice that has blues, reds and purples in it” and enjoys and active career as a contemporary chamber music musician and recitalist. Flutist Sarah Steranka enjoys a multifaceted career as a recitalist, chamber musician, symphony musician, and advocate for new and experimental music.
What's the music?
Join us for an evening of music we are calling Translucent Landscapes with sounds both brazen and blue, wrapped in a translucent wave of works for soprano voice and flute. Each piece uses nature metaphors to paint pictures of grief, loss, and love.
