We will host our first Groupmuse with pianist Samer Fanek playing. Note that we have changed the concert time from 4:00pm to 3:30pm on Sunday, Nov. 10. Music will start around 3:45pm.
We had scheduled harpist Amy Ahn to perform but Amy had to cancel for personal reasons. We hope to reschedule her in January 2025.
Instead the talented Samer Fanek will be performing. Samer Fanek (Arabic: سامر الفانك, born December 11, 1986) is an award-winning Jordanian-Polish pianist, composer and producer of instrumental piano music. Known for his piano-based orchestral compositions, which blend modern synthesizers with orchestral textures, Samer’s music ranges from powerful and dramatic to gentle and introspective, including delicate piano solos.
His work has earned him several accolades, including a win in the Great American Song Contest for best instrumental song, several silver medals in the Global Music Awards, and nominations in the Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMMA) in 2016, 2019, and 2021. His debut album also made the 59th Grammy® Awards first-round ballot in the Best New Age Album category.
To date, Samer has released four studio albums: “Call of the Desert” (2022), “Polarized” (2020), “Guide Me” (2018), and “Wishful Thinking” (2016). Each of these albums has received critical acclaim, debuting at #1 on Amazon.com charts within their genre, with Wishful Thinking also reaching #12 on the US New Age Billboard charts.
What's the music?
A selection of my original piano compositions from my four most recent albums: Call of the Desert (2022), Polarized (2020), Guide Me (2018), and Wishful Thinking (2016). Additionally, I’ll share arrangements of songs by notable composers from the Arab world and Mediterranean regions.
The music ranges from from powerful and dramatic to gentle and introspective, all played on a keyboard with an authentic piano sound.
