Host

I'm looking forward to hosting guitarist Luis McDougal for an intimate afternoon of music. Luis performs music from a variety of traditions and time periods that was not originally written for guitar. His aim is to share some explorations on beauty and the possibilities that electric guitar can offer this repertoire, with a compositional approach to improvisation. Luis is inspired by music heroes Thelonious Monk, John Dowland, The Beatles (late period), Radiohead, Hermeto Pascoal, and more.

Weather permitting and at the artist's discretion, the concert can take place in my backyard rather than the living room. Doors open 2:30 pm, music starts around 3:00 pm. Luis plans to perform one set, approximately 45 minutes. Enjoy conversation, food, and drink before and after his performance. I will provide snacks and non-alcoholic drinks, and you are welcome to bring alcoholic beverages.
