Scotty Bramer is a guitarist, composer/arranger, and musical artist from Los Angeles, California. Come celebrate the release of his latest album, "Between Two Worlds", in a tranquil outdoor patio setting.

The music from "Bodhisattva" bridges the gap between a variety of musical styles including jazz, rock, Bossa Nova, psychedelic, folk, classical and more. The music combines strong melodies with rich harmonies and textures over danceable grooves. We also like to include jazz standards and covers from a range of artists including Thelonious Monk, John Coltrane, Jerome Kern, Jimi Hendrix, and Radiohead. Improvisation is a major aspects of the music, bringing exploration and spontaneity to the forefront. To me, music is more than just entertainment - it is an expression of the Soul, who we truly are - and all realms of life experience, both the pleasurable and the painful. This music expresses an array of emotions and can be both fiery and exciting as well as introspective and heartfelt. As an improviser, I love to explore the unknown with an adventurous spirit and I'm often described as “melodic and tasteful.” I strive to openly share my heart and life with the audience. We will be performing a special selection of original music from my upcoming album, "Between Two Worlds," which is coming out at the end of this summer 2024. It is comprised of mostly new music I have composed over the past few years, with the addition of a few older pieces. It is bridging the gap between two entire lifetimes and worlds. Here are the names of some of the pieces from the upcoming album that we will include:

Farewell, People of Orphalese
Mousetrap
To Illuminate All Shadows
The Shorter Tune
The Smell of a World that is Burned
Daybreak
The Maya
How to Break Free
The Hamster Wheel of Karma
Prayer for the World

This music is very special and dear to my heart, and we have been fortunate to have had many opportunities to perform it since the world opened back up again. It is new, spontaneous, and exciting each time - and this is why I refer to it as Creative Improvised Music. Instead of simply using a label like "jazz," which can create a bit of a box, this music includes a wide variety of influences such as rock, funk, classical, folk, and World music - although jazz improvisation is at its core. It is unique to me!

We will also include a select jazz standard and a special arrangement of a pop/rock cover tune - these will be a surprise!
