I'm thrilled to be returning to Carol's beautiful space with my duo partner, tenor Michael Celentano. Michael and I just earned our doctorates from Stony Brook, and this is Michael's good-bye tour of sorts before he moves to Germany to pursue operatic work there! Michael is the 2023 winner of the prestigious National Federation of Music Clubs competition, and I recently earned a collaborative piano fellowship at Bard Conservatory. Where does this music come from?

For much of its history, art song was a genre that took place exclusively salons, an intimate collaboration between pianist and singer for friends. We are bringing it back to the living room in this program of English and Italian folk song arrangements, paired with some Strauss!
