Flutist Adrienne Baker, one of Jersey City's own, has been curating Live Music Monthly for you since February 2023. She's so excited to share her artistry with you and continue the expectation of awesome music every month at Ko Cafe!
Adrienne is an interdisciplinary performance artist whose quest for sustainability includes sustaining the hopes and dreams of the community around her. Her art is informed by the people it inspires and impacts. She believes that community raised her; her art is the direct product of that experience.
An arranger and composer, her original works include I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free with effects pedal and the Pug Suite for Flute and Cello. She has also commissioned and premiered works such as Just Passing and Running In Place by Peter Christian.
An active freelancer, engagements have included playing flute with The Broadway’s Sinfonia’s Ratatouille The Musical, The Boston Copley Library’s Courtyard series, The Boston Sculptors Gallery, The Unsung Orchestra, and The Sugar Hill Salon chamber music series.
Cellist Sarah Overton is a dynamic multi-genre cellist and arts fundraiser living and working in NYC. Sarah has been featured at venues including Carnegie Hall, the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, the Atlanta Symphony Hall, the Buddy Holly Theater, the Pantages Theater, and international stages in London, Paris, and Cardiff.
She recently completed a national tour as the Principal Cellist with the Broadway Sinfonietta for Sony/Marvel’s “Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse Live in Concert '' series and separately, a tour with the celebrated NYChillharmonic. She is a frequent collaborator with Sound Off! Music for Bail, Choral Chameleon, NYU’s New Theater on Broadway, internationally renowned Cypriot fusion ensemble Sounds of Cyprus and many more.
Sarah has also worked to make a lasting impact on the cultural landscape as an Arts Administrator. Projects include building campaign frameworks for esteemed institutions such as The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Clark Art Institute, the New York Youth Symphony, and the Perez Art Museum Miami.
Sarah is also a versatile electric cellist who has performed on stages at Walt Disney World, Universal Studios Orlando, and will make her debut at the Re:Sound Festival in Cleveland, OH this May in a unique collaboration with renowned trumpet player Theresa May.
