Come join us for an evening concert of live bossa nova jazz in the garden! If you come early there's a two story tree house with limited spots if you prefer "a balcony" seat. Feel free to bring your own drinks and snacks or a trusty picnic basket. We'll have a few beverages and do a little baking beforehand as well. You are welcome to come by most anytime after 7pm with music by 8pm!
What's the music?
Marlon Martinez, Tristan Cappel, and I are thrilled to invite you into the world of Antônio Carlos Jobim, the legendary Brazilian composer whose groundbreaking music revolutionized Brazilian jazz and pop music. Made famous by his collaborations with Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Stan Getz, Jobim along with João Gilberto changed the global jazz scene forever by introducing an entirely new style of music.
We will playing some classics, deep cuts, and other bossa nova influenced by Jobim’s enduring legacy. Marlon, Tristan, and I will also feature a small set of original songs inspired by Jobim and other jazz fusion greats.
Sit back, relax, and enjoy one of my favorite jazz catalogues in the world!
Marlon Martinez, bass Tristan Cappel, saxophone and woodwinds Max Berlin, piano
