We are thrilled to see that one of our friends and dear groupmuse cellists, Zlatomir Fung is performing alongside the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra on May 3rd at Symphony Hall, and as luck would have it, the Boston Phil has asked us to bring our Groupmuse community along, for a fraction of the regular ticket price!
During the dark days of the pandemic, Zlatomir was performing livestreams on groupmuse.com from his own bedroom, wowing audiences with his extraordinary talent. Don't miss a chance to see this rising star (truly the up-and-coming-next-Yo-Yo-Ma), under the direction of our very favorite conductor, the great Benjamin Zander. What a combo!
On the program: Mahler's Fifth Symphony which as Mr. Zander states , "puts an orchestra at the limit of expression", and Schumann's Cello Concerto, "which was [Schumann's] final major orchestral work, written before his early death in an asylum. Its moods are intimate, soulful, and confessional, almost like chamber music, and its three connected movements are like one long-drawn breath of lyricism that virtually cries out for Zlatomir’s subtlety and communicative power."
Groupmuse community members with ADA accessibility seating requirements are asked to email [email protected] so that we can properly accommodate you.
Children over 5 are welcomed.
Tickets will be available for pick up at the Will Call window, Symphony Hall Box Office. Seating is assigned.
