Hi there!
I'm very excited to welcome pianist Chaeyoung Park for a formidable program which includes Beethoven's Sonata Opus 106 in B-flat Major, also known as Hammerklavier. Chaeyoung placed as a finalist in the prestigious (and intense!) Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition in Tel Aviv last year and was a winner of the 2022 Young Concert Artists' Susan Wadsworth International Auditions. This will be a run-through ahead of Chaeyoung's concert at Merkin Hall the following week so she will be in top form. You can find out more about Chaeyoung at https://www.chaeyoungparkpiano.com/
Guest arrival begins at 7pm with music to begin around 7:30pm. I'll provide light snacks and non-alcoholic drinks; feel free to BYOB. Please note I'd like us to take off our shoes upon entering the apartment.
What's the music?
Debussy: Etudes, Book 1
Beethoven: Sonata No. 29 in B-flat Major, Op. 106, “Hammerklavier”
