Kiyoshi Hayashi is the founder and violinist of the award winning Rasa String Quartet, Co-Artistic Director of the string ensemble and nonprofit organization, Palaver Strings, and the Career Advising Manager at the New England Conservatory of Music. He has performed with notable ensembles around New England including the Cape Cod Chamber Orchestra, Phoenix Orchestra, and A Far Cry, has taught at Institutions like the Longy School of Music, Phillips Exeter Academy, and Apple Hill’s Summer Chamber Music Festival, and has a personal health & career coaching business where he empowers young musicians in developing the entrepreneurial skills and holistic lifestyle necessary to design meaningful and sustainable careers.
Cellist Timothy Paek is an enthusiastic musician with a passion for chamber music. He believes in and champions an ideal: chamber music can better the world. His current appointments include, principal cellist of the Cape Cod Chamber Orchestra, as well as section cellist of the Boston-based Phoenix Orchestra. Aside from those, he also shares the stage as a guest with other New England ensembles such Beacon Street Quartet, Fermata Chamber Soloists, Palaver Strings, Juventas New Music Ensemble, Juventas New Music Ensemble, and the New Bedford and Cape Symphony. Timothy is also the founder and co-artistic director of the newly minted SandBar chamber music series stemming from the Cape Cod Chamber Orchestra. Upcoming highlights will include a February 2024 concerto performance, collaborated with violinist, Kiyoshi Hayashi, under the direction of Matthew Scinto and the Worcester Polytechnic Institute Orchestra. Other than performing, he spends his time working as the recording engineer for various organizations in New England such as Boston University Tanglewood Institute, and the Cape Cod Chamber Orchestra. Aside from music, Timothy loves to pursue culinary interests, golfing, tennis, and playoff NBA Basketball.
Pianist Miki Sawada's performance was named one of “The classical concerts that made me fall in love with live music again" by The Boston Globe. Through her signature project Gather Hear Tour, Miki travels to all 50 states with a piano in a van to perform in community gathering spaces with a mission to connect with Americans across socioeconomic and political divides. Gather Hear has so far given 80+ free performances in 6 states and created three films.
Miki has been featured at venues such as: Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall, Helsinki Music Centre, The Arctic Philharmonic (Norway), Joe’s Pub at the Public Theater (NYC), and Roulette (Brooklyn). In 2022, she made her soloist debut with the North Mississippi Symphony Orchestra and Portland Columbia Symphony Orchestra. In the summers, she is a faculty member of Heifetz Institute in Virginia. Miki holds degrees from Yale School of Music, Eastman School of Music, and Northwestern University.
