Join us this Halloween weekend 10/26-10/29 
For a special series of performances of Abbate's original Folk Horror Chamber Music Suite LAMINARIA in collaboration with Wendy Osserman Dance Company presented at the newly opened Stone Circle Theatre in Ridgewood, Queens. Featuring special lighting design by Ben Demerest.

Rooted in the historical traditions of chamber music, free improvisation and folkloric music coming from the various musical trainings and backgrounds of members of the group.

What began as a concept; FOLK HORROR as a music genre, an undersea witch emerging from a kelp forest, the powerful medicinal energy of kelp which holds us on the very crux of life and death has now evovled into a multi-sensory 20 person theater production. Come and be enthralled and immersed in a ghostly fantasy amidst ocean waves with intricate stage lighting, live foley sound effects, live dance and a 10 piece orchestra. 

LAMINARIA has received awards from from the New Music USA Foundation,  the Alice Ditson Fund of Columbia University, the Howard Gilman Foundation,The Amphion Foundation,The Cheswatyr Foundation, ASCAP and BMI.

The Stone Circle Theatre is a historic church in the Ridgewood neighborhood of queens renovated into a theatre venue. It boasts excellent acoustics with high vaulted ceilings, colorful stained glass windows and unique architectural design.

Parking is available to those driving to the venue, you may request to reserve a spot upon purchasing your ticket to the event.
