About Erika Baikoff
Russian American Soprano Erika Baikoff is a recent graduate of the Metropolitan Opera Lindemann Young Artist Development Program. In the 2023/24 season Erika will make her role and house debut as Zerlina in Don Giovanni at Houston Grand Opera, as the four heroines in Les Contes d’Hoffmann at Palm Beach Opera, and looks forward to her return to the Bayerische Staatsoper Munich for the role of the Fourth Maid in Elektra. In addition, Erika joins the London Symphony Orchestra / Sir Simon Rattle in two concert performances as Jano in Jenufa and the Detroit Symphony / Stephanie Childress in Britten’s Les Illuminations.
An acclaimed recitalist, this coming season includes appearances at the Teatro Zarzuela Madrid, Palau de la Música Catalana, and Alice Tully Hall New York. Erika is the first prize winner of the 2019 Helmut Deutsch Liedwettbewerb and the 10th Concours international de chant-piano Nadia et Lili Boulanger together with her duo partner Gary Beecher. Other awards include the 6th Prize, Oratorio-Lied Prize, and Schubert Prize at the Tenor Viñas Contest, George London Foundation Award, Sullivan Foundation Career Development Grant, Career Bridges Grant, Mondavi Young Artist Founders’ Prize, and the Bouchaine Young Artist Scholarship.
Erika holds a Bachelor of Arts in French Studies from Princeton University and a Master of Music from The Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
About Soohong Park
South Korean pianist Soohong Park graduated the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he studied with Ronan O’Hora, Iain Burnside, and Graham Johnson. During his studies, he participated in masterclasses at IMS Prussia Cove with Ferenc Rados and Rita Wagner, and Carnegie Hall with Jonathan Biss. He completed his Bachelors and Masters degrees at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold, where he worked with Dina Ugorskaja, Alfredo Perl and Peter Orth.
In 2020, Soohong was the recipient of the Guildhall School’s Gold Medal Award, shortly after which he was named a Rising Star by the BBC Music Magazine. As a recitalist, Soohong has performed at the Wigmore Hall, Barbican Hall, Carnegie Hall, Lithuanian National Philharmonic Society, and Konzerthaus Dortmund. Equally in demand as a soloist, he has performed with the Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra and Tongyeong Festival Orchestra. This season, he will be making his debut at the Teatro Zarzuela Madrid and Palau de la Música Catalana.
