Staying in town Labor Day weekend? Join us for a late-afternoon, end-of-summer concert by the Kalliope Duo with a varied program for bassoon and saxophone. We will have appetizers to share; bring your own favored beverages. Our large apartment is right on the Cleveland Circle branch of the Green Line (Fairbanks St. stop) and if you are looking to go out for dinner after the concert there is a wide array of restaurants within a 5-6 minute walk in Washington Square or a 12 minute walk to Coolidge Corner. Full disclosure: our apartment is comfortable but not air-conditioned--so dress accordingly.
What's the music?
Franciso Braga, Sonorous Dialogue to the Moon
Francis Poulenc, Duo for Clarinet and Bassoon
Igor Stravinsky, Three pieces, for solo clarinet
Bizet/Sarasate, Carmen Suite
José Elizondo, Danzas Latinoamericanas
Liza Lim, Axis Mundi, for solo bassoon
Mariano Mores, El Firulete, duo for saxophone and bassoon
