Flute and Piano: The Salon and Beyond

Flutist Adrienne Baker and Pianist Jae Han are looking forward to sharing with you sounds of the Romantic Era and 20th century.

Adrienne is a composer, arranger, and freelancer who has written for chamber ensembles and has been a pit musician in the Playbilled musical Ratatouille. Also a socially conscious artist, the intersection of community and commitment to her accompanying values was a foundation of her upbringing and permeates her creative process and output. Collaborations with NorthStar Duo include commissioning new works from composers for their unique instrumentation. Previous commissions include Spirituals for Wind Duo by Anthony R. Green, Aaron Jay Meyers' You Save One You Save the World Entire and Liz Gelinas' The Sky Is Green. They also have a monthly podcast called NorthStar Duo and Keeping Score.”

Jae Kyo Han has devoted his life to pianos through his work as an instructor (Steinway Educational Partner), performer, tuner/technician, and apprentice piano rebuilder. Introduced to the piano when he was four, Jae began to compete early on and continued to do so throughout his musical studies. He regularly received top prizes in statewide and regional competitions, including walking away as a finalist in the 14th Chiang Wen-Yeh International Young Artist Piano Competition. As a winner of the American Fine Arts Fetival, he has also performed in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall.
