Overlooking the dramatic skyline of NYC, soak in the sounds of Cello and Piano with Aaron & Tina, two internationally-acclaimed musicians, at an architecturally renowned modern art-filled 3 level penthouse at Mcarren Park, in WB/greenpoint.

A number of guests have RSVP'd on eventbrite, but we also wanted to welcome the groupmuse community.

Can music communicate a sense of place, or the feeling of home? Our exploration of this idea begins with music based on folk idioms from Schumann’s Germany and Tsintsadze’s Georgia. We then trace how the travels of Claude Debussy and Antonin Dvorak sparked works that have become cornerstones of the cello-piano repertoire.

Schumann – Funf Stücke in Volk Ston, Op. 102
Tsintsadze – Five Pieces in Folk Style
Debussy – Cello Sonata
Dvorak – Silent Woods

Aaron Wolff (b. 1994) is a New York City-based cellist active in solo and collaborative capacities. Recent performances include Schumann Quartets with Yellow Barn Artist Residencies, Marc Migo’s “La Dona d’Aigua” with the Juilliard Orchestra, and Debussy’s Cello Sonata on CNN’s Quest Means Business.

Aaron received a B.A. in comparative literature and B.M. in cello performance from Oberlin College & Conservatory. He then completed Master’s degree at Juilliard, where he was a Kovner Fellow under Joel Krosnick, and an Artist Diploma under Tim Eddy and Fred Sherry. As the winner of the Leo B. Ruiz Memorial Recital, he will give his Carnegie Hall debut in December 2023.
Aaron has found creative outlets in acting – most notably in a lead role in the Coen brothers’ film A Serious Man – and in arranging and writing about music: he has provided string arrangements for Comedy Central’s Broad City and covered New York’s new music scene for I Care If You Listen.
Aaron plays a Perry-Wilkinson cello, made in Dublin in 1791.
