You are MOST WELCOME AT MILO, music begins at 8pm. DC Musica Viva has a wide performance biography, hundreds of well attended house concerts and regional venues; founded 1998. EXPECTING 20-25 PAID ATTENDEES.

Program: Poet Anne Dykers performs her recent work, “Book 1 of the Amazing Blurry Dream Place”. Violinist Samuel Zhu and pianist Carl Banner perform Brahms Sonata #2 in A, Op. 100. Carl Banner performs Brahms Variations Op. 21 No. 1 and Ballade Op. 10 No. 4.

Anne Dykers is a poet and book artist in Silver Spring, MD. Her poems have appeared in Green Mountains Review, Ashen Meal (edited by David Gansz), and Bourgeon, an anthology of DC area writers and artists, edited by Robert Bettmann. She has participated in multiple readings and collaborative projects sponsored by The Takoma Park Community Center, and her handmade books have been included in member exhibitions of the Pyramid Atlantic Arts Center. Anne is also a body-centered psychotherapist in private practice in Silver Spring.

Samuel Zhu is a classical violinist based in the DC area. He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music under the tutelage of Dr.Stephen Miahky. After starting learning to play the violin at age five, he quickly participated and excelled in local youth orchestras, and later participated in All-State and All-National Orchestras. An avid chamber musician and soloist, he has received masterclasses from members of the Juilliard Quartet, Aizuri Quartet, Perlman-Quint-Bailey Trio, Blair Quartet, and Copperstone Quartet.

This is the 73rd SOLOX concert at the Red Lantern at Milo, since 2010, and the 24th with GroupMuse.

Host will provide two hot hors d'oeuvres & punch for potluck reception during intermission & beginning, when doors open. Guests are welcome to bring food and wine to share as well; if considering a sweet, think about fruit instead of processed sugar. Music begins at 30 minutes after doors open, please be on time, 2 sets with 1 short intermission, or one longer set. Guests most welcome and encouraged to bring dish/drink to share/potluck, please consider bringing wine if you use it. Stemware/Ice Buckets/Filtered Water Provided.
