On January 6th, Handel and Haydn Society is putting on a concert at beloved Symphony Hall featuring the music of two beloved greats--Beethoven and Mozart--and the music of Marianna Martines who was highly regarded in her times as a composer, keyboardist, and singer and who was Haydn’s downstairs neighbor AND part of Mozart’s musical circle to boot! With Ludwig's 1st Symphony, Wolfgang's youthful violin concerto, No. 2 in D Major, K. 211, and femme composed music finally brought to the forefront where it ought to be, this is a program you will not want to miss.
Groupmuse ticket holders are instructed to pick up their tickets at Symphony Hall's will call. Seating will be assigned, so groups wishing to sit together are instructed to purchase tickets under a single reservation.
More information about this program can be found on the H+H website here.
What's the music?
Martines: Sinfonia in C Major
Mozart: Violin Concerto No. 2 in D Major, K. 211
Beethoven: Symphony No. 1
