The Century Club of California one again welcomes the community into its magnificent ballroom for another series of concerts. This next program will be a Piano Extravaganza, and will feature four local all-star pianists performing on the club's recently restored Steinway D Concert Grand.
Centuries of Sound brings together the inclusive casual atmosphere of Groupmuse and the elegance of a turn-of-the-century historical building.
Pianists Elektra Schmidt, Monica Chew, Britton Day, and Ian Scarfe will join forces to perform a program that will feature each pianists signature style, and even several duets where the musicians take turns sharing the piano!
The program will feature music for 2-hands and 4-hands, romantic works by Frederic Chopin, impressionistic scenes by Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel, and works by women composers Monica Chew and Amy Beach..
