Greetings!
My name is Jae (pianist) and I look forward to meeting you all. I am trying to grow a community of classical musicians in the Brooklyn area that want to meet regularly to play. Meetings will take place on the second floor of the Soapbox Gallery in Prospect Heights. The space is only accessible by stairs, but there is a Yamaha GH1 baby grand and plenty of space to hold up to 30 people. Would be wonderful if groups are eventually formed and performances are held for the public in the surrounding neighborhoods.
Once musicians are confirmed, repertoire suggestions will be sent out for the instrumentation that is available. Requests for repertoire will also be taken into consideration.
For this month's meeting here's some possible repertoire we can read through:
Schubert - Quartet for Flute, Guitar, Viola and Cello
Mozart - Flute Quartets
Boccherini - Guitar Quintets
Hermann - Capriccio for 3 Violins
Bacewicz - Quartet for 4 Violins
Gieseking - Kleine Musik for 3 Violins
Piazzolla - Histoire du Tango for Guitar and Flute/Violin
Would also like to try a 15-minute version of Terry Riley's In C with everyone that comes.
What's the music?
