Our friends at Music at Redeemer are offering discounted rates for our community members for their April 2 concert at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Bethesda, Maryland!
Their ensemble-in-residence, Kassia Music, plays a concert of folky tunes and fancy dances. You may never have heard of Hungarian composer Lazlo Lajtha, but after hearing his String Quartet No. 8, you won't forget him. Along with his music, you'll hear premieres by Kassia's own member-composers, Bernard Vallandingham and Sam Post. A student piano trio opens the concert with a movement of Beethoven for the "Kassia Kids" spot.
What's the music?
Kapustin - Pastoral Etude, op. 40 no. 6
Lajtha - String Quartet no. 8
Post - Kazakh Sketches for Violin & Piano
Vallandingham - Sextet no. 2
Glazunov - Reverie Orientale
