The first groupmuse at my place was so great, I have to do another. Come over at 7:30. Bring a bottle of wine or snacks if you can. Music will start at 8.
Performing will be a trio led by David Mirarchi, a saxophonist, composer, and poet based in Brooklyn, NY. David has studied with luminaries of the New York Jazz and Improvised music scenes, including David Bixler, Jason Rigby, Ed Neumeister, David Liebman, Tony Malaby, and Gary Smulyan. In 2021 David was named a Fellow of the Ravinia Steans Music institute, lead by Steve Wilson, Billy Childs, and Rufus Reid.
During the prolonged isolation of the Covid-19 pandemic, David has recorded and released three solo woodwind recordings under the project name “Keepsake Box,” as well as a recording with renowned Danish bassist Mathias Højgaard Jensen, called “Nonlocal,” which features a series of duo-improvisations, recorded remotely over video call.
It will be an evening of amazing music, hope you can make it.
What's the music?
Two durational, partially composed and freely improvised songs, each running ~20 minutes, totaling 40-45 minutes.
