Dear Friends,
I'm excited to share with you part III of "A Collage of Violin Music", this time live from Indianapolis!
I will be joined by virtuoso violinist Eric Silberger again on the violin duos. We will be playing duo music by Prokofiev, Leclair, and solo violin music including the famous works by Ysaÿe and Bach. The repertoire will be performed in the style of a "collage" - the movements by different composers will be performed intertwined, carefully rearranged to spark fresh perspectives and senses.
The program is about one hour long, with a 5 minute break in between two halves. Grab your favorite beverage before, during, and after the show! Cheers!
What's the music?
Johann Sebastian Bach (1685 – 1750)
Partita for Solo Violin in E Major, BWV 1006
Jean-Marie Leclair (1697 – 1764)
Sonata for Two Violins in E Minor, Op. 3, No. 5
Eugène Ysaÿe (1858 – 1931)
Sonata No. 5 for Violin, Op. 27
Sergei Prokofiev (1891 – 1953)
Sonata for Two Violin in C Major, Op. 56 (1932)
