Host

The Friends of the Goodnow Library welcomes you to our winter concert with Clemens Teufel.
This is our first virtual concert using a platform from Groupmuse that will enable us to meet our performer, Clemens Teufel, before the concert. We will then watch the performance, and after, be able to again assemble virtually to connect and share questions and comments.
We're looking forward to seeing you all online!

Described by the press as an "incredibly sensitive playing" and “red-hot German pianist”, Clemens Teufel has performed concerts throughout Europe, the United States and Asia including venues such as the Old Opera House Frankfurt, Germany, Rockport Music’s Shalin Liu Performance Center, USA, Cité des Arts in Paris, France and the Beijing Conservatory in China as well as at several festivals including the International Burgos Music Festival in Spain, the Holzhauser Musiktage and the Easter Festival in Bayreuth, Germany as well as the Newport Music Festival and the Summit Music Festival in New York, USA.

Ecstasy and passion versus poetic vision and meditation: these are the contrasting musical manifestations of “Rhapsody and Reverie”. While the common perception is that Franz Liszt boldly represents the former and Frederic Chopin the latter these concepts are broadly exchangeable between the two composers.
