The Mid-Autumn Festival is a festival celebrated notably by the Asian people. The festival is held on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar with a full moon at night, corresponding to mid-September to early October of the Gregorian calendar.
We are presenting to you 45 minutes of Western classical music and Chinese folk art songs, by tenor Thomas Leslie, soprano Tamara Radjenovic, accompanied by Shirley Wu on piano. Shirley will also play a few piano solo pieces.
The mid autumn festival celebrates family reunion, so it is kind of like the Chinese Thanksgiving. According to Chinese tradition, you are supposed to prepare yourself a cup of rose tea, different flavors of moon cakes on this day.
We hope that on this day where all the stars are aligned, this short and sweet concert will be able to transfer the energy of moon to you from our screen, to your screen. We will celebrate harmony, family reunion, and music.
No matter you are in Toronto or Montreal, San Francisco or Seattle, invite your family, friends, join us virtually, to feel alive.
