In the age of Covid, the cozy, conversational music of Scroggins & Rose can still bring you together at this groupmuse! I hope you can join us from your and our living rooms. We'll be playing solo selections from Nashville and San Francisco, as well as presenting a few joint videos of our tunes.
What's the music?
For this very special evening with Scroggins and Rose, we found a way to bring you a concert we're proud!
Scroggins and Rose will perform seldom heard solo selections.
From Nashville, Tristan will play his Freshgrass Solo Mandolin Contest winning arrangements featuring his very fancy cross-picking stylings on traditional numbers as well as his own compositions. From Oakland, Alisa will play selections of her favorite solo violin works including Bach, Piazzolla, and Perkinson.
We'll also share with you some not-yet-released split screen versions of us playing our tunes from our new CD Curios, and we will improvise variations in response to eachother across the airwaves.
Curios (releasing June 26th) represents Scroggins & Rose’s evolution from playful improvisation to carefully crafted storytelling. The goal of our music is to make people really feel a part of it. We’ve loved having audiences come with us on our creative process, to comment and influence the music as we crafted it. It helped to give a feeling to our music, one that we hope is approachable, yet closely personable. Curios is an intimate conversation between two musicians and listeners are invited to join; it’s a type of hopeful connection which we all need in a time of social distancing.
Please join us from the comfort of your own living room for this very special show!
