NOTE ABOUT THE PROGRAM: The original promotional email had incorrectly listed the program. The actual all-Beethoven program is listed below.
In this world of breakneck change and terrifyingly high stakes, this new year, 2020, represents so much. To classical music nerds and devotees, such as the folks who run Groupmuse, 2020 means, among other things, Beethoven’s 250th birth year. And that’s just phenomenal news for everyone, because it means concerts halls all over will be PACKED with Beethoven this year. And our most venerable partners at The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center are starting us out right with an all-Beethoven night of string quartets, and they want us to join for a Groupmuse Night Out!
They’re bringing through the Danish String Quartet for the occasion, and string quartets just don’t get any better than the Danish String Quartet. For the past 15 years, they’ve been celebrated, hailed, awarded, acclaimed. And their Beethoven is a sight and soundscape to behold:
The program is composed of three early Beethoven String Quartets - Op. 18 nos. 1-3 - representing Ludwig’s utter mastery of the classical forms. He had so far to grow, but he was already such a staggering presence on the world stage.
General admission to the evening is $60 on average, but we’ve got a stack for only $25!
The stack is limited though, so make your move!
What's the music?
