Praised for its innovation and enthusiasm, Trio Agora was the 1st prize winner of the 2018 Rubinstein chamber music competition in Düsseldorf, Germany and regularly commissions new works and performs self-made transcriptions, in addition to bringing the standard repertoire to stages around Europe. Trio Agora’s discography includes three albums released with Odradek Records and Accentus Music.
The ensemble performs regularly in Lithuania, Germany, Italy, Holland, Belgium, Hungary and Spain, in music series such as the ENSEMS contemporary music Festival, the Mecklenburg-Vorpormmern Festspiele, Amici della Musica Firenze and Le Strade D’Europa, performing halls such as the Kaunas Philharmonic hall and the Budapest Music Center.
The ensemble seeks interaction with its audience, reviving the dialogue, creativity, and interpersonal connection at the origin of chamber music.
Music
Our programs include “Hotel Tango,” an exploration of tango from its eclectic roots to its influences on classical composers. Highlights of the program include a new and revisited interpretation of A. Piazzolla’ s Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas written by the Trio’s clarinetist, Žilvinas Brazauskas, as well as J. Hoffman’s exuberant and witty “Foxtrot Romeo Juliet Hotel Tango,” which was written for Trio Agora.
